What is Truth?
Short Answer:
The Truth is Eternal Reality
from God’s Perspective.
It is non-negotiable, unbiased,
unchangeable, and forever the same.
“The Truth” is not and idea in a
man’s head.
The Truth is not subject
to man’s thoughts
or man’s feelings
or man’s knowledge.
The Truth is Higher than all these things.
“The Truth” abides in a Person.
What is “The Truth”?
How and where do we find it?
Longer Answer: Supported by God’s Word Below.
“The Truth,” the source of all Truth, is found in only one place. It is found in a person. That person is “The Truth,” and hence, He is the source of “All Truth.” Jesus is that. He has declared it. And he paid a high price for that declaration.
I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
(John 14:5-8)
The choice we must make regarding the truth is whether or not we shall come to “Know Him”?
Then Truth for us will become “a Revelation,” if we open the door to the Truth, it will undoubtably produce a Revelation that will inevitably transform our lives. Jesus said …
Revelation 3:19-22 (KJV)
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:
-
- If any man Hear My Voice …
[Notice the conditional statement of Jesus: Everything that follows this statement is conditional. It is based on the premise, or condition, that you or I will “Hear His Voice.” The Voice of “The Truth,” is being offered to us. What happens next is up to us. If we will choose to hear his voice, then we can Open the Door Wide to the Truth, to Let Him “IN,” thus coming to “Know Him” or we can shut the door and keep Him out, thus ending our chances of ever coming to “Know Him” or ever “Know His Father”, as we shall see shortly.] - And Open the door … [Notice “We” must open the Door. When you or I open the Door to the Truth, we give Him the right of way, we give ultimate permission and all authority for The Truth to Enter into Our Home. That is entirely our decision we must make, but once we make it, we must surely abide by our own decision. That one decision will shape our Entire Our Life. It will change us from the Inside Out. It will transform Our Soul, Our Body, Mind, and Spirit–and all of our relationships.][In other words, we invite The Truth into our entire Family, and our whole Community. Once we give the right of way to the Truth, we no longer remain neutral in the War between Right and Wrong, Good and Evil, Light and Darkness, Life and Death. Once we open the Door to Give Access of the Truth to Our Entire Life: we become Light Bearers, Truth Defenders, Holy Life Soldiers, Warriors of Good, Lovers of Truth, Presenters of Righteousness, and there is no going back. We can never be ignorant again. Every time we sin, from that point on, we do so with knowledge, we do so against the Truth.
(1 John 1:6)] - I will come in to him … [When the Truth comes in, The Lie has to leave. In fact, all lies, all sins, all evil, all wicked lusts, evil games, dark ways, demonic strongholds–They ALL have to Go! When the Truth Comes in The Light is shown, Repentance Takes Place, Demons are Cast out, Poisonous Wounds are Cleansed, Forgiveness washes down the Entire House. Addictions Leave. And God’s Holiness and Purity fills every dark corner and every closed room.]
- and I will sup with him … [Supping with Jesus is sharing His food, which is His Word, His Commandments, His Laws, His Ways, His Light and Life. These are the things that will come in with Jesus and Fill the House of whoever invites Jesus in to sup with him or her Therefore, Supping with Jesus, a metaphor for Growing into His Likeness, His Image, His Grace, His Freedom, His Forgiveness, His Healing, His Glory, Majesty, and Might.]
- and he with me …
[Jesus will give us His Food. (His Food is to do the Will of His Father who sent Him.) When we receive His Food, we make it our Food. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4) As we grow in the Process of Making His Food our Bread: We receive it. We digest it. We Learn it. We live it. We Share it. In other words, we daily invite Jesus in, to Teach us His Will and His Ways, His Life, and His Truth, that we may be able to do it. (James 1:22). In essence, we invite the Spirit of God in to direct us, and teach us, and grow us into His Likeness–Every Day. As such, we begin doing the things Jesus did, teaching the truth as Jesus taught it, living a daily Holy Spirit directed miraculous life, that bring Joy to the heart of Jesus. That will honor Him and bring Him Praise. As we acknowledge, He made that possible for us. All that comes from supping with Him.][“He with me” also carries the image or symbolism of walking with Him. Picking up our cross and carrying it along side of Him–being with Him, even in his sufferings. Being with Him when He is feeding the poor, healing the sick, clothing the naked, visiting those in prison, raising the dead, inviting the power in our our home, setting the captive free, casting out devils, while sharing the Good News with the Lost.] - To him that overcometh …
[The natural outcome of receiving His Word is making your house clean, it is having a home where the Truth can Live. Wherever Jesus Lives there is overcoming power and overcoming grace to overcome the enemy attacks, the enemy temptations, the enemy lies, deceptions and traps. Wherever Jesus goes his Freedom Goes with Him, so does His Power, and His Authority, and His Love, we cannot divorce any part of Jesus’ Life from Him, nor from ourselves. To do so would be to shoot ourselves in the foot. If He is Abiding in You and You are Abiding in Him, then you will be overcoming just as He is overcoming. You will victorious just as He is Victorious. You will bring healing and deliverance just as He would bring Healing and Deliverance, if He is truly living in you, and you are truly living in Him: He says, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John 15:16)][When Jesus abides in you, and you in Him, His Royalty is conferred upon you, His Freedom can Come and Abide with You and be in You. This is the relationship He died on the Cross to give you, and I. He paid a high price for such such a precious gift. It would be a shame to waste it. When we honor His gift in us, and truly overcome this world, we bring glory, and honor and Praise to Him and to His Father.] - I will grant to sit with me in my throne,
[These are not idle words by some traveling evangelist or some soap and snake oil salesman. These are the pure Promises of the Son of God, the Holy One, the Righteous One who cannot Lie! So when Jesus says to you who overcome, you will sit down on His Throne–He means just that: You will sit down on His Throne] - even as I also overcame,
[Jesus is our example, He overcame, so while following in His footsteps we will also overcome. That is simply a part of the inheritance that he has purchased for us at the Cross.] - and I am sat down with my Father in his throne.
[Notice the amount of repetition in this short passage. Every time God includes a repeating word, phrase, theme, image, concept, or symbol, He is shouting His Word on that Subject. He is saying pay attention. The imagery in this passage is so rich and so filled with meaning, emphasis, etc. and it is all predicated on the Command to Hear His Voice. Hearing His Voice is the first step. Tuning your ear to hear His Voice should be a top priority, for anyone wanting to participate in every else stated in this passage. Those who will seek this will find it. Those who will ask for this shall receive it. Those who will knock will have the door opened. Sitting down to eat and be with Jesus is prerequisite becoming Like Jesus, and sharing His Bread, and His Life, and to sitting down with him on His Father’s Throne. If we want to participate in these things, we must surely seek and find them, if not we won’t.] - He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
- If any man Hear My Voice …
Who Will Choose the Truth?
The question remains:
Will we choose to receive Him,
to believe Him,
to trust in Him,
and thus come to know Him?
(John 12:26)
Or–Will we choose to neglect Him,
and/or reject Him,
and thus never come to trust or to “Know Him.”
(John 12:47)
God has given us absolute autonomy and freedom to make that choice, we must make it to make on our own.
No one else can make that choice for us. No one can force us, guilt us, into “Knowing God”, the only path we can take is a free will offering. We come to Him, because we want to Know Him. That is the condition under which we must make our decision.
Our Salvation in the Truth is built by digging deep and building our lives brick by brick upon an eternally solid, tried and true, permanently sure and secure foundation, that is “The Truth.” We must dig deep to fasten our foundation to the Rock of Truth that will never move, never deceive, and never fail us. (Matthew 7:24-29) Once, we are securely grounded in the Truth, our houses and homes will be inwardly safe for eternity, no matter what happens externally around us. A nuclear bomb could wipe out one half of the world, and that wouldn’t damage our salvation one bit.
The Bricks We Build with are “ALL THE COMMANDMENTS” He gives us. (John 14:21)
So–by Keeping His Commandments, and Doing His Will, we become an unstoppable force. Our future will never be shaken. We will become like living stones in God’s Eternal Building. (1 Peter 2:1-6)
To actually build upon this True Foundation, we must remove all lies, all fake news, all false reports, all slander, all evil accusations, all wicked communication, all sin and evil selfishness, and overcome all compromise, replacing it with The Truth. This stage of our building process is called repentance. It is required to be done before we start remodeling or building work. The first stage of our renovation is demolition. All the old structures have to come down, all the walls, roof, floors need to be removed, and all the rubble and garbage must be taken out to the dump and deposited forever, never to come back into the home.
If we fail to properly do a thorough work of demolition, if we try to keep some of the old structures, we will ruin the new building, for the old structures can carry the weight, nor endure the pressures, nor handle the floods that will be coming against this new structure.
All hell will break loose and attack our new home, and if we are not prepared or if we have reused compromised building materials or shoddy building practices, based on man’s wisdom and man’s perspective, our building will fail, and be washed away. (Again: Matthew 7:24-29)
When we fail to invite The Truth into our new Homes, we will not be ready for the attack of our enemy and we will predictably fall into our old habits, our old addictions, and our old ways, of thinking and doing things, re-submitting ourselves to our old sins, regurgitating our old vomit, and licking it up again. Like a dog returning to its vomit, so will those return the old dead corpse, that was buried in the grave, but only half covered, so that we can drag his rotting flesh into our homes once again. Such is the nature of those who do not have The Truth Living Front and Center in the Middle of their Homes, watching over the activities being done in every room, at every hour of the day and night.
He has come to clean up our home. If we want to keep our house filthy, we will block him at the Door. We won’t truly let him enter. We won’t give him full permission to clean up every dirty, nasty, and unclean space in our lives. If we don’t invite him in all the Way, we will never know what it is like to Truly Know Him!
Why would God choose to abide in an unclean home?
No. If He is coming in–He will have a free hand to clean House and make it fit for Him to live.
With our permission and our cooperation, He can and will clean house, and do so Rapidly–if we truly invite Him in all the way in, and let Him do His Work.
(See the Gadarene Demoniac: Mark 5:1-21)
If we truly want The Truth
to Abide with Us
We must identify and break all our agreements with the one who is the Liar, eternally severing his evil influence, and eternally removing ALL of his evil work from our lives. And we must rebuild all our agreements in The Truth, that we may walk with Him in honesty, purity, faith, obedience, joy, grace, power in His Light. (1 John 2: 3-6))
Once we have broken all agreements, and cleansed our lives and our relationships from all evil influences, then we can build freely (John 14:12-14), unhindered by lust, greed, envy, jealousy, anger, hatred, violence, fear, retaliation, insecurity, doubt, shame, guilt, confusion, depression, disillusion, delusion, division, derision, and every form of self destruction (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
This is the expressed plan and purpose of our salvation. That we abide in Him, and He abide in us.
We have been given a new and clean slate. (1 Corinthians 6:11) Because we now abide in the Truth, we are forgiven for all our past wicked deeds. All are acts of rebellion, all our transgressions and sins, all our evil iniquity, has been washed in the Blood of the Covenant of God. All that we did in ignorance and rebellion to the Truth, is now behind us, if we have truly entered into His Holy, Pure, and Powerful Covenant of Love, paid for with Blood.
How can we know
We are Clean and Free?
Jesus promised his followers that they should know the Truth, and the Truth should set them free.
John 8:31-32 (KJV)
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Mark this down: The Above Promise “to be free” is Conditional. It is a Covenant Promise based on the Condition of Our Relationship to the Promise Giver. The Truth is not conditional, but our ability to receive the Truth, and to Live in the Truth is purely based upon the condition that we continue in His Word.
-
- if ye continue in my word,
- then are ye my disciples indeed;
- then ye shall know The Truth, and
- then the truth shall make you free.
In other words, the Promise to be Made Free:
Is based on a person’s willingness and perseverance to “Know The Truth,”
Which is based upon their willingness and perseverance to “Be His Disciple”
Which is based upon the condition of persevering or “Continuing In His Word.”
Too often people like to quote, declare, and believe the last step, “The Truth shall make you Free!” but many regularly neglect and reject the first three conditional steps involved in arriving at the place and space of Freedom, hence they totally miss the Truth being Taught by Jesus here, as they do in other places in the Scriptures.
Our Salvation is Dependent on:
How we relate to The Truth.
John 14:5-7 (KJV)
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
In other words, Jesus is saying that knowing “The Truth” is not like knowing an intellectually static and dead concept, it is rather like entering into an Eternal Living Covenant Relationship with the One who is “the Living Truth” who is also the “Living Way.” He is the Creator of All Things, and He is the Doorway to His Father and His Father’s House and His Whole Eternal Family.
Entering into “The Truth” therefore is entering into a Dynamic and Living Relationship with the Creator and Sustainer of not only our World, but also the Creator and the Maker of Eternity–the place and space where we can Live with “The Truth” forever and ever. It is also entering into a Blood Covenant with every single one of His eternal children. In other words, this is no small undertaking, with no small impact and outcome. Everything is huge, and massively orchestrated and masterminded by the Only Person on the planet who could actually grasp and see the Big Picture as well as all the billions of individual parts working themselves out in perfect unison.
Only the One who is the Truth could ever have accomplished what He did, and will accomplish in the End what he has said, from the beginning to the End.
If you don’t know him yet, and He doesn’t Live inside of You, and You inside of Him, and you are not one with him, in the presence of others who have entered into the same Blood Covenant that you have–then now is your time, today is your chance, this is the hour to seek Him to Know Him. Let’s let the Apostle John introduce the Truth to us (the writer of John and Revelation, and the letters of John)
Below are some testimonies and teachings about the Messiah shared by the Apostle John:
John 1:1-5 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 3:3-8 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him [Nicodemus), Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:12-17 (KJV)
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18-21 (KJV)
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But He that Doeth Truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 5:18 – 6:1 (KJV)
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. 19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. 31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. 32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. 33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. 34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. 35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
John 8:30-59 (KJV)
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. 37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. 38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham [do]. 41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. 48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? 49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. 50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. 51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. 52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying [Keep His teaching, His Word]. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
As I hope you can see: The Message of “The Truth” of the Gospel is that we, (you and I), have been invited to enter into a Covenant Relationship with “The Truth” through the Word of Truth, the Message of the Gospel, which is the only Way, the Only Path, the Only Invitation that will Lead us to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Three in One.
So how does a person, like you or I, enter into such a Covenant Relationship with “The Truth”?
Mark 1:15 (KJV)
The time is fulfilled,
and the kingdom of God is at hand:
Repent ye, and
Believe the gospel.
We can only do so by Repenting and Believing–The Truth.
Our Life of Faith & Obedience begin with repentance, which sets us up to successfully walk in unison with the Son of God, and continue to grow and mature in His Word, until we meet Him face to face. On that day, we shall “Know Him” for we shall be “Like Him”.
In order to Live in The Truth, we must reject everything that is False. We must reject every lie, every deception, every wicked work that would desire to destroy The Truth. All this is made clear through the message of the Cross. The Cross is the dividing point between Eternal Life and and Eternal Death. Those who accept the Work of the Cross in their lives, accept the Eternal Life that is necessary to overcome their own death, even as Jesus overcame His own Death. All who will believe “The Truth” will accept the call to “Repent and Believe, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
Without Him, not only would there not be any truth, there would not be any existence as well.
Below are several references to support these claims:
John 14:5-7 (KJV)
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Notice this is a non-negotiable statement coming from the Son of Man who cannot lie. This one statement of Jesus sets him apart from every man in human history. As CS Lewis stated: Jesus gives us no back door. We either have to take him at his Word, or have to reject all his counsel, all his teaching, everything He has ever said.
We must decide, either he is a Liar, a Lunatic or He is LORD. He gives us no other option. No, he was not just a good man. God men don’t lie about themselves. No he was not just a good prophet. The prophets are not confused, and do not lie about who they are, and who God is–that wake make him a lunatic.
Matthew 11:25-27 (KJV)
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things* from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
(*) “These Things” refer to the judgements and understandings surrounding his work in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Take note of this: You and I cannot know each other, unless we choose to reveal ourselves to each other. I can know some things “about you,” but I can never “know you” unless you choose to reveal yourself, your inner world, you personal being to me.
It is the same with God, we cannot Know Him, we cannot know the Father, nor the Son, unless the Spirit reveals them to us. This is just a small part of a great mystery.
We are created in God’s image.
