What is Hell Like?

The Story of Hell and
the Lake of Fire.
(Part Two)

Lot’s of people, say to their friends,
I don’t want to go to heaven with all those religious types:

“I’m going to hell where I can party hardy
with all my badass friends!”

Question: What basis and what reliability
does the above attitude towards going to hell
have in reality?

Let’s examine that thought …

If what people believe, they will be doing in Hell  “Is Partying, they will soon have a rude awakening, if they care to see Reality from God’s Perspective.

The Truth be told, only someone who has been to Hell, or the One who created it, can give us a truly accurate picture of what it is like.

We have the only completely trustworthy, and reliable witness on the subject, and He fits both categories.

He has been to Hell, and He is the One who created it.

You cannot get any higher credentials than that. If you want credibility, then check out His Testimony below:

We have God’s Legally Binding Testimony
that He came died to give us,
and paid for with his own blood–
all of it, so that we can have a reliable witness
to know what Hell is like.

What does the Testimony of God have to say about Hell? What is Hell? Where is Hell? Why is Hell? And … Who is going to Hell?

What is Hell Like?

Let’s Hear the Testimony of God on the matter:

Matthew 5:27-30 (KJV)
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

[Note: Adultery, copulating with another man’s wife is a sin that will qualify a person for Hell. According the Testimony, it would be better to gouge out your eye, that would even tempt you to look lustfully, than to go to hell.].

28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Now hear the Testimony from the Gospel of Mark, this version is a little more descriptive and frightfully more dramatic:

Mark 9:42-50 (KJV)
42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

[Note. As you can see, God is very protective and quick to condemn anyone who harms one of his vulnerable children. It will not go well with anyone who mistreats his children on the day of judgement. Not at all.]

[Next, we have a kind of repeat of the earlier sequence of the eye, and the hand, but notice the increase in emphasis, and the strength if the rhythm and the repetition, used like a pounding drum to dramatically increase the tension and the volume and the effect on the audience: Who were no doubt being riveted to his words. ]

And if thy hand offend thee,
      cut it off:
it is better for thee to enter into life maimed,

than having two hands to go into hell,
into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched.

And if thy foot offend thee,
      cut it off:
it is better for thee to enter halt into life,

than having two feet to be cast into hell,
into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched.

And if thine eye offend thee,
        pluck it out:
it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye,

than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
        Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched.

For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Anyone involved in any literary understanding, will quickly recognize, that the above message uses some of the strongest, most forceful, most tumultuous, literary construction and imagery of anywhere in the Bible, and it is all directed to achieve one great purpose: To Deter People from making the Grave Mistake of wanting to go to Hell. To Avoid doing those things with one hands, eyes, feet, mind, and heart that will qualify them for being choosing Hell over Heaven.
