Vlog # 2 – Faith
What is faith?
Here is a dialogue between two unborn babies.
Maybe you can see and read between the lines.
What is our faith in?
What does real faith look like: when it is set on fire and fanned by the breath of heaven?
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
What is required of man to be involved in these works and to participate in their heavenly revelation?
The answer is simple: Faith.
True heavenly perfected faith can accomplish more in one month, through a handful of praying and obedient saints, than an a 1 million man army can accomplish in 20 years. See below:
Charles Finney preached in Rochester, New York during the initial Rochester Revival from September 10, 1830 to March 6, 1831 (and also later in the 1850s). During this period, he delivered 98 sermons, primarily in the Presbyterian churches, and his preaching significantly contributed to the revival’s success 2 4 7.
The Rochester Revival of 1830–1831 had a transformative impact on the local community, both spiritually and socially:
-
: Approximately 15–20% of Rochester’s population converted to Christianity during the revival [there seem to be a lot of discrepancy about exactly how many converts were made which really isn’t the key important statistic we should be concerned about]. Church membership doubled within six months, with significant growth across all Protestant denominations1 3 5.
-
: The revival led to a rejection of alcohol consumption and sales, contributing to the Temperance Movement. Crime rates decreased dramatically despite Rochester’s population tripling after the revival. The prosecuting attorney noted that criminal prosecutions were reduced by two-thirds1 3.
-
: Institutions associated with “sinful amusements,” such as theaters and circuses, were repurposed into functional spaces like livery stables and soap factories. This reflected a shift in societal values1.
-
: The local high school experienced a spiritual awakening, with 300 students converting to Christianity. Forty of these students became ministers, and another forty became missionaries1.
-
: The revival united people from all social classes, including influential figures such as lawyers, judges, physicians, and merchants. It also fostered collaboration among different denominations1 4.
-
: The revival’s effects extended beyond Rochester to surrounding towns and states, inspiring similar movements across northern states. It also contributed to major reform movements such as abolition and women’s suffrage13.
Overall, the Rochester Revival profoundly reshaped the city’s moral fabric, strengthened church influence, and catalyzed societal reforms that lasted for years.

What does faith look like an individual basis?
What was true for the woman below in her day, it’s just as much true for us in our day. By the same faith, we can meet made hole.. And we can also expect to hear the words of our savior:
“Daughter, be of good comfort;
Thy faith hath made thee whole.”
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
It is the testimony of God, that throughout history, God is looking for those who would, but believe in him, trust in him, learn from him, and become vessels of his glory, his Majesty, his love, his compassion, his virtue, and his excellence. And yes, one part of becoming a vessel of God, is allowing God to fill your cup with faith in such a way that it can not only heal you, but it can be used to heal others as well. See below:
The Great Bible Chapter on Faith (Part 1)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Why is it that many today? Do not offer a more excellent sacrifice than Cain?
Could it be that they lack a more perfect faith?
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
If we dare, not to faint, nor grow weary in our faith: let us compare our faith to the faith of those have gone before us: it is not a difficult thing to do. The word of God is open and available to us any day of the week we can choose to compare ourselves openly, honestly, and reverently. See below:
The Great Bible Chapter on Faith (Part 2)
Hebrews 11:5-40 (KJV)
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
And yet none of these of whom we’ve just read, have been given the depth and breaths of the promise of the Holy Spirit that we have today. So what is our excuse? How will we rationalize our lack of faith? I can tell you how: we will raise up teachers, who will tickle our ears and relieve us of the duty, to have a perfect faith, to stretch ourselves on behalf of our Savior, who will marginalize those who will dedicate and consecrate their whole life to God. We will follow the herd instinct of the faithless, surround us, and insulate our faith, our week and pitiful, faith, from the bold and courageous and lionhearted faith of our forefathers.
In essence, we will create a faith that negates the royalty and Majesty and the heavenly treasure hidden in the word of God. And we will create a faith around our movies, our place, our hobbies, our social engagements, our church, life, our social and political and financial ambitions, that will eventually drowned out the word of God, and the heavenly obedience that is required of those who have a perfect faith, one that impresses God, one that pulls on the heartstrings of God to move and act on behalf of his children.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
“And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul” to learn what they are read below:
Acts 19:1-12 (KJV) 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Has God changed his mind?
Is God a promise keeper, or a promise taker?
Dearly Beloved: the inheritance of God to all the Saints has not changed since the very promise of God has said that those who believe in Christ will do mighty works, even greater works than what Christ did. Many modern theologians, and modern Bible scholar. Teachers have never walked in nor diligently pursuit according to God’s perspective, the riches and fullness contained in the promises of God. But that does not mean that the promises of God do not exist, nor that they have passed away and no longer are viable. Nothing could be farther than the truth. Men would rather trance trance on the word of God and crush it under their feet as though the salt has lost it saltiness rather than openly confessed that they lack the faith, they lacked the loyalty, they lack the discipline, they lack the hope: that God will do everything he has promised he will do for those who love him, and have submitted their lives onto him so that they have been called according to his purpose.
Ask yourself this question:. Why did God heal every single one of the sick people?
Acts 5:12-16 (KJV) 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
To win our spiritual battles, sometimes we must realize that we are fighting more than what we can see with her eyes. We are fighting against unseen enemies.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Mark 16:17 (KJV) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Below is the autobiography of Finney, written by Finney himself, (please forgive the redundancy, not everyone knows the meaning of autobiography) and preserved in PDF format.
This man’s testimony is unlike any story or testimony I have ever read due to the breath and depth of the work being done in our nation. What’s really sad and almost criminal is the lack of understanding, and the lack of exposure people have to learn about and know this incredible time in American history.
If you investigate the subject just a little, you’ll soon discover that Charles Finney’s influence spread across the United States, into Canada, and across the ocean to England, Scotland, and Wales, and was even felt in France and Germany, and other parts of Europe.
