The Making of

Powerful Marriages

(Part 1)

God is in the Business of Making Powerful Marriages.

If our marriages do not reflect a Radical Representation of the Kingdom of God: Chances are Good–We are doing something wrong. Chances are:

We are coming up short of our potential. Heaven knows that we have many incredible opportunities to represent Christ in our marriages, to one another, to our community, in our business, and in all our social relationships. Because of our secure Bond in Christ, we have the access to reach souls, with the gospel of Christ.  As such:

We will have many divine encounters in which to bring the Light, Love, and Truth of the Life Transforming Power of the kingdom of God into both our new and old friendships in Christ with those around us.

Radical | ˈradək(ə)l | adjective

  1. A powerful change: Affecting the fundamental nature of something.
  2. A far-reaching overhaul of an existing regulatory framework.
  3. Forming an inherent part of the nature of someone or something:
  4. Advocating a complete change: spiritual, political, or social .

Origin: late Middle English (in the senses forming the root and inherent): from late Latin radicalis, from Latin radix, radic- root.

If we are taking advantage, full advantage, of the opportunities to share his message, and bring his kingdom to those around us, there will be undeniable fruit, and unavoidable spiritual victories.

As an outgrowth of our maturing Relationships with Christ, and our in-depth devotion to sharing His Good News, we will be making disciples, and raising up evangelists, teachers, pastors, and men with prophetic voices, expanding the Kingdom of God in our midst.

When we ourselves sow powerful spiritual seed into the men and women and children around us, we will reap heavenly spiritual fruit. We will be shaking up the world around us with:
Heavenly Convictions, and Earthly Missions.

May this message on powerful marriages, help raise the bar, and raise the vision that we have, and encourage the outpouring of the spirit on the work set before us by the son of God.

Example: The Marriage of Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18). They clearly said, “Yes!” to Christ. They chose to advance the gospel of Christ through their dedication. By devoting themselves to become His laborers in the harvest, alongside Paul the Apostle.

They became powerful examples by raising up kingdom workers to gather in the great harvest of God. By Faith: they saw that the fields were white and ripe, and the grain was ready to be gathered in. Therefore, Priscilla and Aquilla became faithful laborers, working tirelessly in unity in his Vineyard–selfishly serving the Body of Christ, and Paul the Apostle, who mentored them.

This devoted married couple chose to follow in the footsteps and pattern of the first son, in order to become faithful servants of their father in Heaven. They chose to dedicate their lives to work in their father’s vineyard—reflected in Matthew 21:28-31.

Matthew 21:28-31 (KJV)

28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. 29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. 30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. 31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first.

Are Priscilla and Aquilla an example of a Powerful Marriage in Scripture?

They opened their home to serve the Body of Christ …

It appears from the writings of Paul in the New Testament () that both Aquila and Priscilla put their hands to the plow. It shows they did not to turn back, even when many others were being tempted to turn their backs on Christ in the midst of trials, tribulations, and persecutions that came against them from the Romans, the Greeks, the idolaters, and the angry Jews who had rejected Christ as Savior. Turning away from Christ would’ve been the convenient path. But it is apparent that both Aquilla and Priscilla spent the rest their lives supporting the apostle Paul, and carrying the gospel into Corinth, Rome, Ephesus, and other cities.

Luke 9:62 (KJV)

And Jesus said unto him,
No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

The Marriage Covenant is God’s Most Powerful Revelation of the Kingdom of God.

It represents: delightful purity, heavenly intimacy, deep connectivity, radical transparency, fierce loyalty, eternal beauty, soulful healing, limitless resources, miraculous provision, divine morality, royal interdependency, god-given endurance, infinite forgiveness, supernatural grace, permanent security, never ending sacrifice, immortal humility, untouchable sensitivity, and the picture of never-ending unity.

Those are just a few of the character qualities we should be seeking to emulate in the midst of our marriage covenant, not only with our temporary human partnership here on earth, but also in our permanent partnership together in heaven.

Marriage is God’s Design.  It is His Highest Replica of What an Eternal Relationship with Him Looks Like:

When you understand the powerful undeniable bond inherent in the gospel of salvation, in it’s heavenly context; you simultaneously understand the powerful and spiritually unbreakable bond in the marriage covenant. These two covenants are in a sense inextricably united in there call to faithfulness to one another.

Now, that we see this powerful bond in heaven and light of our heavenly relationships, we should also be able to see how great a hatred there is in the kingdom of darkness, for both of these heavenly bonds, made possible by the blood of Christ. As such, we should quickly see how both of these bonded covenant relationships would be under severe attack from the enemy, to the point of seeking the destruction of both of these bonds.

It is the hope of the believer, and the hope of eternity, that sets the true believer apart from the convenient believer.

One will go to war attacking the very gates of hell itself, to empower his bond with Christ and his fellow man.

The other will fold when trouble strikes, when it no longer becomes convenient, when it no longer feels beneficial to remain faithful, loyal, dedicated, and devoted to their covenant duty to uphold their vows, and sacred oaths.

His invitation has been going out for thousands of Years.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden [invited] to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden [invited], Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready:

Come unto the Marriage.

The message is clear. God wants us to come to his Marriage. He wants us involved in the greatest marriage there ever was. It will be the greatest celebration in the history of mankind. The point of the parable is that he wants all to be invited, but not everyone will come. In fact, the majority will spurn his invitation.

As a result: in the end, there will be great weeping, and gnashing of teeth. There will be an accounting, and a call to order, going out, and every soul will have to give an account of how they responded to his heavenly invitation. Sadly, the majority of those who were invited were not chosen. “For many were called, but few were chosen.”

His chosen ones have been preparing themselves since receiving the invitation to become a part of the bride of Christ, wearing the pure bright white raiment of royalty, that is required for the bride to cover her nakedness.

John 3:28-31 (KJV)

28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

Revelation 21:9 (KJV)

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying,

Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

Revelation 22:16-17 (KJV)

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the Water of Life freely.
