- Which book has the most references to signs and wonders?
- Which book do you believe represents the best model and example of what our spiritual life and Faith should be looking like today?
By my account the book of acts has 8 specific references to the topic of “signs and wonders.” The other book in the Bible that mostly talks about signs and wonders and is referenced in many other books of the Old Testament is the book of Exodus, referring to the signs and wonders and the 10 plagues that Yahweh sent upon the people of Egypt and in the beginning on the people of Egypt and Israel. As can be noted, God brought judgment on all the people who had disobeyed him, but he judged those who disobeyed him more, more strictly, and showed less mercy, because those people also chose not to show mercy to others. What we can learn from this is that, as we respond to God and we respond to others, so does God respond to us and how we treat others.
- Can you see a disparity, or a broad gap between the book of acts, which set the example for the early church, and what we see happening in the church today in our western church culture?
- Can you see what might be missing from our modern church fellowship?
Can you make an assessment, or pose the question as to why there is such a large gap?
