—Listen—
(Part 3)
1—Do I Listen to the Voice of the Good Shepherd?
They, His sheep, will refuse to follow any false shepherd. They will train their ear to discern the Difference between the Righteous, and the Wicked. The Humble and the Proud. They Greedy and the Generous. The Selfish, and the Self Sacrificing. The Holy and the Profane. The Clean and the Unclean. The Pure, and the Defiled. The Just and the Perverse.
John 10:27 (KJV)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:8-16 (KJV)
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear [listen to or follow] them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall “be saved,” and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Note: “Be Saved” that is the purpose, plan, mission, and reason for the Good Shepherd to come.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
If a man or woman, does not know the Voice of the Good Shepherd: How can the Good Shepherd lead and guide them?
How can they be a part of His Flock? How can they know His Protection? Know His Provision?
Know His Direction?
How can they serve others in His Flock? How can they be a voice to invite others into the Flock of the Good Shepherd?
Yes. This is possibly the most critical issue, lain at the feet of all who will call upon the Name of the LORD.
They must, by necessity, learn to hear and follow the Voice of the Good Shepherd.
Why? Because as God has said: The Voice of another they simply will not follow.
This is the primary distinction from “the Have’s” and the “Have not’s” in the Sheepfold of God. This is what separates the Sheep from the Goats, the disciples from the impostors, the diligent seekers from the casual (and religious) observers, the wheat from the tares, the good fish caught in the net that are kept, from the bad fish that are thrown away.
