Is KJV as Good, Worse, or Better than other English Translations?

You Decide. Check out the Evidence below.

Many claim the KJV or (King James Authorized Version of the Bible) is far superior to Modern Translations.

But what does the Evidence Say?

This is a Study Each Person must do for themselves. And, Yes. It is an important study.

The Bible Version one reads has a “subtil”* (subtle), but far reaching affect on one’s faith.

[* “Subtil” is the word used to describe the serpent in the Garden,  it’s also used describe Jonadab, Amnon’s cousin, whose subtil counsel helped Amnon rape Tamar. Subtil is also used to describe the adulteress in Proverbs 7.]

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, “Yea, hath God said …” (Genesis 3:1, KJV)

[Did God really Say … The Serpent is setting himself up to not only question, but accuse, attack, and call God a liar. You bet he is subtil.]

Please Note that the Enemy of God is always and constantly attacking the Word of God, especially in subtil ways.

When beginning to review a Modern Translation it is good to know something about the source text used to translate the Word of God. In fact, everything depends on the source Text used, and then those who we trust to translate that text.

Before you give your confidence to a translator or a text, it’s important to know something about those who translated the Word of God, and to know if they had any hidden agendas, or any false motives in wanting to create a “New Translation.”

Money can be a motive. Book selling greed is a “cash cow” for many authors, publishers, printers, sellers, book stores, internet websites, etc.

Spiritual compromise is a motive. Popularity, Fame, Fortune, Notoriety, all are notably poor motivations (the personal drive to achieve and be noticed, empowers our finest educational institutions around the world), but these are actually horrible motivations for creating a New Translation for God’s Word.

So let’s see what we can find out about some modern Bible Translators.

Below are two essential figures you need to know about. They are the suppliers of the source of text, upon which most modern Bible translations get their information.

But are these guys reliable? Is their text reliable? And why are they choosing a totally different text source?

How would you like to spend your life studying a Bible Translation generated by two heretics that don’t even believe the core doctrines in the Testimony of God.

Do you think their inherent prejudices, bias, preconceived perverted motives would not filter down into their modern Translation Work?

Personally, I would call this a reason to be suspect. Two guy pushing their own “New Text,” really? Who are these self proclaimed heretics? Hmm. Something seems fishy, doesn’t it?

Now, let us look at the fruit of their work, which shows up in several modern translations almost simultaneously (within decades of each other).

As you can hopefully see, these changes and shifts are very “subtil” but deeply impacting the meaning and the usefulness and power of the Word of God. Essential parts are being, deleted. Essential meanings and God empowering directions are being erased.

How convenient to miss quote “one of the most important Bible verses that declare the purpose of the word of God, and how to artfully use it to destroy the lies of the enemy attack. (Just delete that part, it won’t matter to anybody!)

Matthew 4:4 (KJV) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

When you remove this clarification, you remove the whole reason and purpose for the Verse!

[Note: it looks like the scripture in the table above is abbreviated. No comment on that yet.]

Please make a special not of the word above: OMITTED in the table above. Four questions pop up that are begging to be asked:

  1. Why do it? Why delete stuff from God’s Word? What’s your motive?
  2. Who would do it? You would have to raise yourself above the level of God to do it. Who really wants to go there?
  3. Who would follow you? Who would follow your lead? Really think about that one. Do you want to be that guy? (Ref: Matt 18:1-5
  4. What will be the outcome? (Revelation 22:18-19–see below)

What that means is that these guys and those who followed them, deleted, yanked, erased whole words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and whole stories out of the Bible. (See: NIV text note below for John 7:53—8:11.a

[The earliest manuscripts and many other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53—8:11. A few manuscripts include these verses, wholly or in part, after John 7:36, John 21:25, Luke 21:38 or Luke 24:53.]

We should all know what that means: The Ones we are Trusting to Give us the Word of God, to show us the Character of God, to Introduce us to the Nature of God, are not only questioning its validity, (as Satan does, did, and is doing right now), but they are tearing out whole parts of the Bible to satisfy their heretical lives. And doing so in direct violation of the Commandment of God:

Revelation 22:18-19 (KJV) 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I can’t say for sure, but I dare say, these men are in serious trouble with God, and their reward on the Day they visit God in His House, will be nothing short of tremendous (with terrible trembling).

Personally, I am not that bright, and all my friends will tell you so, and affirm that eagerly! But, even I know enough not to delete whole Words, Paragraphs, and whole Stories from God’s Holy Testimony. I also know better not to add Words to His Message that He never authorized! Seriously. You don’t want to go there. Even the greatest moron should know better than that!

So how does deleting words, verses, paragraphs, and whole stories from the Word of God affect His Message?

Here is one example, that displays the workmanship of Westcott and Hort that I came across on an Atheist type  Website that was bashing the Bible.

The end?

The women at Jesus’ tomb. (Image credit: Credit: Culture Club via Getty Images)

Many scholars believe that the Gospel of Mark is the oldest of the Gospels, [this is patently a false statement–BT] being composed around A.D. 70, about 40 years after the crucifixion of Jesus (opens in new tab). It is also the Gospel with the most abrupt and unusual ending: [this is because they clearly deleted the ending–BT] It finishes with Mary Magdalene and two other women bringing spices to Jesus’ tomb so that they can anoint his body. They find the tomb open and a young man in a white robe sitting inside.

The young man told them not to be alarmed. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here,” the young man said, telling the three women to go and deliver the resurrection news to Jesus’ disciples. “Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid,” Mark 16:6-8. That is the last line of the Gospel.

Why the Gospel of Mark ends so abruptly has long been a mystery. [this is not mystery, the story was altered fraudulently, plain and simple–BT] In later times, [There was no later times, this is false information was added by Westcott and Hort, two fake and fraudulent translators –BT] Christian writers tacked on a longer ending to the gospel that included Jesus talking to his disciples and Mary Magdalene; his disciples then went out to preach.

The very reason this guy above, and everyone who follows modern Westcott and Hort’s, is in error, is because they believe in a  false translation: What a bizarre ending to the Gospel, the Testimony of God, written down by John Mark, a companion of the Apostle Paul, and Barnabas.

Here is the Textual Note or rather the official excuse for removing the Great Commission from the Gospel of Mark.

(NIV) [The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9–20.]

Note: Apparently, the alleged, earliest manuscripts come from two main sources:

“This Westcott and Hort Greek text was based primarily on two very corrupt fourth century ROMAN CATHOLIC manuscripts: Codex Vaticanus (discovered in the Pope’s library in 1481) and Sinaiticus (discovered in 1859 in a trash can at St. Catherine’s monastery on Mt. Sinai). These are usually the “older” and “better” manuscripts that we keep hearing so much about. These manuscripts support most of the attacks in the new versions.

The Vaticanus is considered to be the most authoritative, although it is responsible for over thirty-six thousand changes that appear today in the new versions. This perverted manuscript contains the books of the pagan Apocrypha, which are not Scripture; it omits the pastoral epistles (I Timothy through Titus), the Book of Revelation, and it cuts off the Book of Hebrews at Hebrews 9:14 (a very convenient stopping point for the Catholic Church, since God forbids their priesthood in Hebrews 10!). The attacks on the Word of God found in these manuscripts originated in Alexandria, Egypt with the deceitful work of such pagan Greek “scholars” as Origen and Clement of Alexandria. Then in 313 A.D. the Roman emperor Constantine ordered fifty copies of “the Bible” from Eusebius, the Bishop of Caesaria. Eusebius, being a devout student of Origen’s work, chose to send him manuscripts filled with Alexandrian corruption, rather than sending him the true word of God in the SYRIAN text from Antioch, Syria. So the corrupt Alexandrian text (also called the “Egyptian” or “Hesychian” type text) found it’s way into the Vatican manuscript, then eventually into the Westcott and Hort Greek Text, and finally into the new “Bible” versions in your local “Christian” bookstore. Therefore, when you hear or read of someone “correcting” the King James Bible with “older” or “more authoritative” manuscripts, you are simply hearing someone trying to use a ROMAN CATHOLIC text to overthrow the God-honored text of the Protestant Reformation and the great revivals. God has never honored this corrupt text and He never will.”

Here is what they removed from Mark 16:

Mark 16:9-20 (KJV) 9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
