Ezekiel 34—The Promise of Good Leadership, and the Judgment of Bad
Ezekiel 34 (KJV) 1 And the word of the LORD [YHWH] came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel,
I take it for granted, it is never a good thing when a prophet of God is called to prophesy “against” someone or something. In this case, Yahweh is dealing with the leadership of the People of God: Are they doing their job Correctly? Are they representing the God of Heaven Well? Are they being Good Image Bearers, carrying the Word of God, the Gospel of Conviction, Repentance, Salvation, and Restoration in Spirit and in Truth? Are their motivations Pure? Are they role modeling God’s Pure and Caring intentions? Are they sexually pure? Walking in God’s Humility? Walking in God’s overwhelming generosity? Are their actions in accordance with the King who has given them their stewardship responsibilities?
If yes, there will be a blessing coming, of unspeakable measure.
If no, there will be a curse. There will be judgement and discipline, both temporal and eternal.
… prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds;
Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves!
Clearly God is not happy. His sheep are being neglected and abused by the very ones responsible to protect them and care for them. Who are called to FEED MY SHEEP.
Remember Jesus’s exhortation to Peter: three times repeated: “If you love me, Feed My Sheep” (possibly because Peter had denied three times that night that he even knew Christ). John 21:15-19
... should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
No rocket science here, the Job of the Shepherd is not to feed himself, but to feed the flock.
3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.
God is building his case: like in a court of law, he is laying out his specific grievances one by one. And he is painting an overall picture of the abuses, and the character and the nature of the offenders–The Bad Shepherds, and later will compare them with His Good Shepherd, the One who will be the True Role model for All Good Shepherds.
4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.
Now God addresses the nitty gritty neglect and abuse: “You have …
1) not strengthened the weak,
2) not healed the sick,
3) not bound up the broken,
4) not gone after those who were driven away [by bad leadership],
5) not sought out the lost who went astray on their own also due to your bad leadership,
6) Therefore: My Judgement is coming upon you who use of force and cruelty, that has scattered my sheep away from Me.
5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd:
They had no true Shepherd, no true leader that truly cared for the Sheep with the Heart of the Good Shepherd.
... and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
The Result? The sheep were scattered. Question: Who Are the Beasts of the Field? They will come up again.
6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.
“The Sheep wandered” looking for God in all the wrong places. This was the fault of the False Shepherd’s. The Mountain Imagery and every High Hill, foreshadows the Pagan Fertility Religions that constantly were sacrificing, and worshipping their dirty penis rituals on the High Places, on every high hill, and under every spreading tree.
1 Kings 14:22-24 (KJV) And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him [YHWH] to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done. 23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree. 24 And there were also sodomites [dirty penis religion] in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
2 Kings 17:10-14 (KJV) 10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree: 11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things [dirty penis religious practices] to provoke the LORD to anger: 12 For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing. 13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. 14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; 8 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field,
The Beasts of the Field represent the Demonic gods and their false worship. The devil’s henchmen, both physical and spiritual work together to feed on the Flock of God, and deprive them of their true inheritance in God. Paul calls or identifies the demonic realm of the False Worship: principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places:
Ephesians 6:10-12 (KJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [Did you notice the High Places again? See any repeating prophetic themes?]
Of course, these demonic rulers and hosts in high places did not do their work alone, they each one had their human counterpart. These “Beasts”, both human and demonic are working in a coordinated manner. If you doubt this is happening, I would only suggest you study world history, and study Biblical History, and study the history of war, and the gods of the people who went to war with one another. If a true thorough research into this subject, doesn’t change a person’s mind on this subject, I suppose that person’s mind is not reachable, due to the very reasons given in the scriptures.
Human Rulership guided by demonic forces can become more ugly than we can even imagine. Hitler looks like a well behaved choir boy compared to the real evil surging in the hearts and minds of men, who have given over the leadership of their lives, to the Devil and his henchmen.
Side note: Do you know the written down de-population goal written and broadcast–by the Global Elite? They want a World Population of 1 billion people or less? Just how do you think they plan to accomplish their goal?
However they attempt it, its not going to be pretty. BTW, this is not conspiracy theory, it is written down in plain English, and written out by Global Elitists. They are bold and speak their vision for all to see and read.
So yes. When men partner with the Devil, they get certain perks: They get to lead. They get to be on the cutting edge of many world changes and world wars, and to become filthy rich on stock market crashes, and many other human and demonically orchestrated horrific disasters.
In Ezekiel’s Day: Many pagan priests and priestesses, as well as witches and warlocks, as well as astrologers and diviners, as well as government officials, wanted to harm God’s People (remember Daniel in the Lion’s Den, and Daniel’s friends in the Fiery Furnace, and Esther’s Jewish Family given over to slaughter and annihilations due to the attack by Haman. See the Book of Daniel, and the Book of Esther–Ezekiel was a contemporary to both of them.
Note: Hitler was not the first person to think of the Holocaust. Satan has used many human counterparts to attack the Jewish People throughout History. Ever hear of the Inquisition? Evil Church leaders in the Pagan Roman Catholic Popish Church (PRCPC), slaughtered whole villages and Towns of Jewish families, and killing all the men, raping all the woman, having children rejected by the Jewish community, who were later gathered up and used by the Pope to do his evil business.
Throughout the popes reign of terror, during the Crusades, and during the Inquistions, during the Holocaust (Hitler had a written concordant with the Pope in Rome): Ask yourself this Question, How does that square with Jesus Commandments? To: 1) Love God with All your heart. 2) Love your neighbor as yourself. 3) Love your enemies, do good to those who despitefully use you, persecute you and do all kinds of evil against you.
So if the Popes and the PRCPC are not following Christ and the Holy Ghost, and the Word of God? Who and what are they following? Talk about a dirty penis pagan religion! And it is no secret. It is documented History. Fully acknowledged by PRCPC. Talk about being bold in your sin, witchcraft, idolatry, and false demonic worship!!!! To verify this, one just needs read up on the history of the wicked popes, throughout history. They had some real doozies. The Anti-Christ himself would be hard put to out do them, in pride, arrogance, and outright seductive power, sinning while planning world wide wicked wars!
But God has a way of raising up obscure people, like Esther & Mordecai, to combat the evil Haman. He even used children, such as Daniel and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, to combat Wizards, magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, enchanters, diviner-priests, etc. in Babylon. God also raises up Prominent World Leaders like King Cyrus, and King Darius, and Nebuchadnezzar, (three of the most powerful kings to ever rule upon the earth) to judge and protect his people, when his own shepherd’s were leading them astray. He raised up Moses to combat Pharaoh, David to combat Goliath, Samson to combat the Philistines, Gideon to combat Midian, Joshua to combat the Canaanites. And God raises up people like you, to combat the bullies and the beast in the world around you!
But were the Shepherds, combatting the bullies and beasts in their day? No. They were joining forces with them!
Jewish false shepherds were instead, selling God’s people into slavery and worse. All this was happening to the Israelites, because they had no true shepherds. The false shepherds were selling God’s children into other demonic works, like witchcraft, and child sacrifice, and pagan ritual sex, and these fake shepherds were getting rich (and fat) off the transactions. And people did all this in the name of their gods–aka “Beasts”.
And, yes: the Beasts devoured the sheep. This can be seen as an allusion to the reality of demon oppression and demon possession, the spiritual reality of being devoured by a demonic influence. And we know: the Good Shepherd came set the Captives Free, (For example: Mary Magdalene who had 7 demons cast out of her. And then she became a powerful witness for Christ. A continual testimony of God’s power to deliver, even those who are bound up in darkness and spiritual death.)
… because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; 10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
In other words, a day of judgement was coming for the Shepherds, most likely death. Remember the accusers of Daniel in the Lion’s den? Remember Haman hanging from the gallows he made for Mordecai?
11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
Now, ask yourself: Who is this talking about right here? The LORD GOD, says, “Behold I” that means “I”. Could the “I” be Jesus?
12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Yes. Jesus is the True Good Shepherd of the Sheep, and He seeks them out. Do modern Pastors go out and seek lost sheep to bring them into fold? Or do they spend all week preparing their sermon for Sunday, and attending board meetings, committee meetings, meeting with deacons, elders, city planners, building contractors, marketing agencies, tax advisers, realtors, you name it, and doing just about everything, except seeking out the lost sheep, taking care of the sheep broken, sick, and the scattered flock.
13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick:
but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.
17 And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats. 18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet? 19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.
21 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;
22 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace,
and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
30 Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.
