God’s Gift of Sex: Part 2
What are the Old Testament
Scripture Benefits of Sex?
Many people believe the God of the OT (Old Testament) is different and meaner than the God of the NT (New Testament). This is clearly a false understanding.
In both OT & NT, there are actions of divine favor and blessings for obedience to God’s Will, and also actions with divine judgment and curses being imposed on people for their disobedience and dishonor: To God; To his creation; To his family; To his children; and especially to those dishonor, defile, and defy good and perfect his will.
What is true for war and peace, is also true for romance and sexual intimacy: Walking in God’s Will is the only way to remain safe in God, though the whole world falls apart all around, you remain strong by abiding in Him.
John 15:4-7 (KJV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
In this section, we will look at a variety of scriptures dedicated to explaining the blessing of the gift of sex given by God from the Old Testament.

Here’s a little deeper look into each of the 4 categories:
Procreation and Family

Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.” [This was a purely faith based promosed, based on the fulfilling of the covenant requirements: “if you will keep the covenant I make with you …” says the LORD]
- Deuteronomy 28:4, 11 – “Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine [cattle], and the flocks of thy sheep… And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.”

Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.”
- Song of Solomon 4:1-7, 10-16; 5:1-16; 6:4-12; 7:1-13 – This entire book is a poetic and symbolic expression of the joy and beauty of marital love.
We will devote the next segment to the Book of Song of Solomon.
