The Great Commission

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Message. That Message has been given to everyone of his followers, so that they can become His Witnesses.

Acts 1:6-9 (KJV)

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

  • But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
  • And ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

The primary way a man or woman matures in his or her faith is through sharing the Gospel Message of Life with the Lost. Jesus said, if you put my teachings into practice, then you will know if my teachings come from the Father, on are from myself.

As a result of the Work of Jesus Christ, which was  finished on the cross at His Death: Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel, has given you and I, the invitation, to become his witnesses. So that the whole world can hear The Gospel of Jesus Christ  and be saved.

As a result of his death, resurrection, and ascension: We all have been given the ministry of reconcilation (2 Corinthians 5:17–21), which is the job to reconcile men to God, and God to men.

In other words, you and I have been given the mission and job to bring His Message of Salvation to everyone who has not yet heard it,  not yet understood it, not yet believed it, not yet received it, not yet been convicted by it, not been fully transformed by it, so that everyone we know Will have received the opportunity and invitation to accept him as Lord, or reject him as Lord. If they accept him, they shall be saved, but if they reject him, they shall be condemned.

Therefore, it is critical, that every believer, receives: every promise, every instruction, every teaching, every commandment, and every gift of God, that is promised to help them, fulfill their mission, in being his witnesses, and doing his work, not relying on human wisdom, nor human power and authority, but rather by fully trusting, and fully receiving: all the provisions God provided for the believer to receive in the kingdom of God to fulfill the mission God has given us.

entire life can become another witness of His Eternal Life. Why? So that the whole world can be saved, because every believer/follower/disciple of Jesus is doing his part to reconcile men to God.

The Great Commission is the Mission Statement (Job Description) that Jesus gave to

1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Acts 1:6-9 (KJV) When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Matthew 28:16-20 (KJV)
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee,
into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him,
They worshipped him:
But some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
    1. Go ye therefore, and
    2. Teach all nations,
    3. Baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
    4. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you,
    5. And low I am with you all way, even to the end of the age world. Amen..

Below is the Second Witness of the Great Commission:

Mark 16:14-20 (KJV)

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and

[HE] upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart,

because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

And he said unto them:

  1. Go ye into all the world, and
  2. Preach the gospel to every creature.

    1. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
    2. But he that believeth not shall be damned.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall:

  1. They cast out devils;
  2. They shall speak with new tongues;
  3. They shall take up serpents; and
  4. If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
  5. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven,

and sat on the right hand of God.

And they went forth, and preached every where:

  • The Lord working with them, and
  • Confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The Great Commission can be clearly seen
in the Parables of Christ.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet:

Matthew 22:2-14 (KJV)

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding:

And they would not come.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden,

  • Behold, I have prepared my dinner:
  • Ny oxen and my fatlings are killed,
  • And all things are ready:
  • Come unto the marriage.

But they made light of it, and went their ways:

  1. one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
  2. And the remnant took his servants, and
  3. entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and

  1. he sent forth his armies, and
  2. destroyed those murderers, and
  3. burned up their city.[This prophecy was fulfilled in A.D. 70–During the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Emperor: Titus. See notes below.]

Then saith he to his servants,

The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden [invited] were not worthy.

Go ye therefore into the highways,

  • and as many as ye shall find,
  • bid [invite] to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways,

  • and gathered together all as many as they found,
  • both bad and good:
  • and the wedding was furnished [full] with guests.

And when the king came in to see the guests,

  • he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
  • And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?
  • And he was speechless.

Then said the king to the servants,

  1. Bind him hand and foot,
  2. and take him away,
  3. and cast him into outer darkness;
  4. there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

For many are called, but few are chosen

The Parable of the Vineyard Tenants:

Matthew 21:33-46 (KJV)

Hear another parable:

There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

35 And the husbandmen took his servants [God’s Chosen People—a.k.a. prophets/believers],

  • and beat one,
  • and killed another,
  • and stoned another.

36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

  • But when the husbandmen saw the son,
  • they said among themselves, This is the heir; come,
  • let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. 40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures,

  • The stone which the builders rejected,
  • the same is become the head of the corner:
  • this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken:  [believers]
but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.  [non-believers]

[Historic Note: The Rock Fell on Jerusalem, A.D. 70, and crushed the City, by the hand of God, using the Romans as His chosen Weapon.]

45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet..

Notes on the Fall of Jerusalem:

The Roman emperor who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D. was Titus, who was the son of Emperor Vespasian. However, it was Vespasian who began the siege of Jerusalem in 67 A.D., and Titus completed the destruction of the city and the Second Temple in 70 A.D.
Here’s a brief timeline:
  • 67 A.D.: Vespasian, the Roman emperor, begins the siege of Jerusalem.
  • 68 A.D.: Vespasian returns to Rome and becomes emperor.
  • 70 A.D.: Titus, Vespasian’s son and the new Roman commander, breaches the city walls and destroys the Second Temple.
  • 73 A.D.: Titus returns to Rome and celebrates his victory with a triumphal procession.
So, while Vespasian initiated the siege, it was Titus who actually destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.
Note: Compliments of Meta.ai

There was: Strife in Judaism, ever since the fall of Jerusalem

Now Take Note: The Jewish Believers in the Messiah, all those who Followed Jesus as their Rabbi:  were all warned to flee the city, and therefore they escaped the Destruction of Jerusalem, barely 30 years after Jesus’ Resurrection. But all the other Anti-Messiah Rabbis that didn’t believe or heed the Messiah’s Warning all stayed in Jerusalem, trusting the the Temple would be protected by God, all watched it be destroyed and burned to the Ground.

At this point, there became a great hatred and animus between the synagogue rabbis and Christ’s followers. The rabbis taught that the believers abandoned the faith, and abandoned Jerusalem, and abandoned Judaism, and were no longer to be considered by the synagogue rulers in Judah and around the world to be followers of Moses, and the Jewish Faith. So the Jewish believers in Christ were in essence excommunicated for following Chirst’s Commandments, Instructions, Teachings, and Spiritual guidance. And that rift is still very strong until today.

Here is my personal testimony.

I am now 65 years old. I was challenged at the age of 23 years old, to read the Bible for myself, by two missionaries, that were studying Chinese, at the same school I was teaching English at in Taipei Taiwan, in 1982. During the spring of that year, I believe I partially excepted Jesus as my savior. But due to my own ignorance, lack of training, hardness of heart, love for the world, fear of man, lack of confidence, and other negative influences, and personal shortcomings: I don’t believe I ever made a clear and concise break with the world, and never truly died completely to myself, and never truly 100% gave myself to the great commission of God. Lord did I know how to do that, nor did anyone ever train me to do that, even after becoming part of several different churches, and becoming a person trained  as a missionary, and then attempting to become a leader in the church, and a teacher, with various levels of success, and positive influence, but never deeply grappling with the very basics of the great commission.

As a result, I have never seen, nor born the full fruitfulness of God, that I see being born by those who fully received, and fully engaged in the great commission, coming directly from the father, and being supported by a godly mentor, and disciple in God’s kingdom, as God prescribed for all believers.

Without these key pieces of success, put into our puzzle, there will be gaping holes at the end of our life, where the puzzle pieces never fit into place and as a result, there’s a pile of a jumbled mess of pieces in a bowl next to our puzzle never got utilized, and never were put into place in the proper order, in the proper way, at the proper time, for the predicted, godly final result.

As I look on the landscape of modern Christianity and church life, I see my own experience being repeated by thousands, or more like millions a believers who, like me never got the pieces, the puzzle put together, and as result, never had the fruitfulness that God fully intended to give them.

The message on this webpage, and on this website, and from my whole life, is it a call to others to put all the pieces of their puzzle in order, and put them into God’s perfect placement in their lives, that the whole gospel message, and the whole gospel ministry, and the full gospel blessing: Will be poured out on every individual, that can put these pieces together in order, by faith, through grace, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

It is also my prayer, and hope, that each and every new believer, will be assigned, a faithful friend, and skilled mentor, who will become a trusted guide, and a powerful example, of what it looks like, feels like, and lids like, and early, for century, humble, powerful, graceful, effective, and persevering image of God.

and the guidance of faithful men and women who have laid down their own lives for the gospel message, and have become witnesses, of his glory, of his majesty, of his intimacy, of his love, of his conviction, and his sacrifice.
